Elevation II

This sculpture is made solely from fiber, held together by glue. This piece aligns to the elevated level of Michelle’s creativity and mental state, the next step in her evolution as an artist. The shape, colors and essence of this piece reflect a celebration of life, family, happiness and optimism.

StandPipe

“StandPipe” hits very close to home because of the experience of visiting relatives in rural Jamaica where there is no running water in homes in the community and a standpipe is the only central access to clean running water for the community. This is where residents gather to fill their buckets and jugs with water to take back to their homes. It is also a place usedd for communal gathering as they wait to get their water. We who have access to clean running water in our homes are very privileged and should be grateful.
